Katmos Sàrl, founded by a swiss architect, acquires, renovates and sells real estate in the cities of Barcelona and Lisboa. In two neighborhoods especially:
Sant Antoni (and adjacent areas) in Barcelona.
Anjos (and adjacent areas) in Lisboa
These neighborhoods were selected for their central locations, distinguished landmarks, closeness to stores and restaurants, social melting pot and easy access to public transportations. Even though going through renewal those neighborhoods remain authentic.
Barcelona is home to many modernista style (1850-1930) buildings. Their rich facades declines all sorts of styles, technics and ornaments.
In addition to its famous tiled buildings, Lisboa offers many stunning art deco building. The Bairro das Colónias on the eastern side of Avenida Almirante Reis contains many exemples of this era, sometimes entires streets.
When visiting a new building Katmos thrives on original details and traces of History. Attraction for a particular building can be due to its embedded beauty, its architectural details and sometimes also for the drama it expresses.
A vision is necessary to select an apartment. One has to imagine the potential a space may represent. Visited apartments are often crowded with furnitures and objets, access to windows is not always possible. Often original details have been covered or destroyed.

During construction Katmos installs all new piping and electricity. High efficiency windows are always part of the renovation. When possible original details, such as hydraulic tiles or carpentry are restored. Sometimes it’s decided to expose other existing material.
